IF STAYING AT A LOCAL CAMPGROUND
OTHER EQUIPMENT NEEDED
- Tent
- Ground pad (OPTIONAL BUT ADVISABLE)
- Sleeping bag
- Camp pillow – if you want one.

- Cooking and eating utensils, cups, plates, etc.
- Extra changes of clothing and shoes – (OPTIONAL)
- Flashlight
- Notebooks and pens if you want to take notes
- Toilet kit, towel (soap must be bio-degradable)
- Water bottle OR canteen
- Sunglasses
- Insect repellent
- Camp chairs – nice to have (OPTIONAL)
- Good sharp fixed blade knife
- Flint (consider blast match or strike force) – many cheaper ones are junk
- Rain gear – this is critical as we do not deviate from the schedule because of weather
- Hatchet or kukri – not necessary but helpful for shelter construction. (OPTIONAL)
- Leatherman multi tool with a small saw is very useful for making the triggers for traps - if
- Warm outer gear (sweater/jacket) – should not be an issue June through August but evenings can cool off even during summer months (OPTIONAL)
- NAVIGATION – YOU MUST HAVE A Garmin GPS. YOU DO NOT NEED A COMPASS FOR NAVIGATION AS WE WANT ALL STUDENTS USING THE IDENTICAL COMPASS FOR TRAINING SO WE WILL PROVIDE IT.
