Students will meet us at the trail head on the morning of the scheduled class.  We typically drive to the area the day prior to the class and get a local motel so that we can hit the trail head early in the morning.  Once we walk into the wilderness area we will set up a base camp near otter creek which is a very large mountain stream. Pictured on the right is a staff member at the Otter Creek wilderness base camp during one of our recent winter expeditions into that region

This is basically a very relaxing back trip into a beautiful and remote mountain wilderness area where students can practice any survival related skills that they would like to under our supervision.   At the same time we will make many recommendations for improving both the students survival kit as well as their skills.
